A trip to Halesworth in July

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

I’m taking a trip to Halesworth between July 18th and July 19th.

This is actually a journey, which was unexpected and also a great excuse to buy a new camera backpack. The mission was to get to the Latitude Festival 2009 – and grab pictures for the next issue of Film & Festivals Magazine.

Well lots to report, my camera phone sucks, the module on the n95 is faulty and i was one day out of my 28 day return policy with t-mobile !

Which means it has to be sent off, that’s annoying.

Flickr photo, I found of cobwebs with dew on them

Well I just never get round to updating this blog !

What with social networking, bad clients, and an avalanche of work, I’ve just been crap at getting any news posted.

So what’s been happening:

Well a lot really, but I’ll do a quick rundown of my most memorable events, then fill in the gaps and get to specifics later on.

Thanks Flock

  1. I just completed a quick photo shoot for The Chandeliers, Milla is playing bass, got some creative shots at their band practice, Sunday just gone.
  2. Ethical Junction is steaming forward, and there are some great ideas in the pipeline (lots of work), check out Ethical Pulse, there news blog
  3. I am going to breathe some new life into Spirit Quest (complete site redesign from the Ground Up, transcendent approach, thanks Andy)
  4. Band Practice, I’ve taken back to bass thumping again, and i’m loving it .. too much, apart from slicing my finger 2 weeks back, not too badly. We are making progress and should be gigging soon.
  5. I went to Shepperton Studios to cover a 3D day aimed at studios, this was a write up I will be doing for Film And Festivals Magazine, was interesting, and bumped into David Burder and Andrew Hurst (Stereocopic Society guys) whilst there.

They are the basics from my ether-sphere.

I promise to keep this updated …. :)

On pure tangential note, Ethical Junction got into the Indy on Monday which was very cool too !

I know, I know, its been over a year since I updated this blog. I’ve had to drag my Sunday into Monday to make it possible to start getting myself back into the social network !

Well it just so happens, I am going to be filling in a lot of blanks between now and then, so this seems like a good start.

Our second rehearsal, and a good one at that, we listened to some tracks that potentially we would like to cover, all going well.

I even managed to test out my new Bass Practice amp, a Kustom KBA16.

East Finchley Open 2006

Friday, June 30th, 2006

So its that time of year again,

I have just helped finish hanging the show at ‘The Pheonix’ Cinema, the oldest purpose built cinema in the UK. The EFO group launch their yearly open weekend from tonight.

I have two pieces showing in the Pheonix (one a 3D anaglyph shot from the World Of Wrestling film shoot, and a black and white image I took at WOMAD Festival 2005)

Two images need hanging at Lazooli a shop a couple of doors down from the cinema. I am also exhibiting at one of the artists house this weekend and the next. So if you’re around come and take a look, some really interesting work by all the artists – lots to see and pieces of work are on sale too !!

The opening is tonight and I have a lovely over/under stereo framed print on view, maybe get the slide viewer on show as well, don’t know if I have time to organise that, but we’ll see.

Hope you can make it.

Vandal Lottery

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

I’ve been trying to regain a state of normality, the World Of Wrestling film shoot has left me feeling invigorated and wiped out, need to recharge my nickel-Metal Hydride power packs. So last night I decided to clean up the office desk that’s been neglected for a couple of weeks, I managed to retrieve a note that was left on my mobile phone that I’d scribbled onto a scrap of paper.

PC Birchall from Lincolnshire !!? I haven’t been up to Lincolnshire in over 10yrs !

This call had left me feeling a little disturbed, as this PC had called my mobile following up an investigation he was involved in, and my number was a lead in a case of vandalism in a small village ..

The thing is I couldn’t get in touch with the PC straight away, so I had no idea if this was just a wind up. What had transpired was that a house had been vandalised and my mobile number had been graffiti’d on the wall … ?!

He just tried the mobile number to se if it was real, asked me a few questions, the first being where do u live … .. surreal.

DON”T USE MY NUMBER if you’re going to graffitti it on a wall somewhere please.

A friend of mine, Tim Plester invited me along to his debut film shoot as a director a couple of weeks back, it was fun to be back on set. I’ve been along to two film shoots of his, where his role has been the writer and actor. These two shorts were entitled “Ant Muzak”, a comedy pop short and “Blakes Juntion 7″ a comedy sci-fi short. In both films I offerred my services as an extra, and enjyed the team experience of being on long shoots.

Well I took some stereo photographs and filmed some “behind the scenes” footage for Tim. I’ll see if I can post up some of the stereo images later. I’ve just been a bit tied up with Spirit Quest work since I submitted my dreaded taxes last month.

Check out his blog, and Image Gallery, a lot to see from his varied and very interesting carreer.
